The Club Marítimo de Mahón (CMM) achieved an excellent performance at the Gran Día de la Vela – Bufete Frau, organized by the Club Nàutic S’Arenal.
Young sailor Louis Amiel was the standout competitor for the Mahón team, taking home the bronze medal in the Optimist Sub11 category, while his teammate Borja Morro finished in a solid ninth place.

Strong results for Mahón’s youth team

Despite the event being scheduled for three days, the regatta was held over two sessions of perfect sailing conditions, as the third day was cancelled due to unstable winds.
In total, six races were completed, with Amiel consistently fighting among the leaders to earn a well-deserved podium finish.

Alongside Amiel and Morro, several other sailors from the Club Marítimo de Mahón also competed:

  • Mar Gavari, 24th place
  • Sara Jaen, 31st place
  • Paulo Blu, 17th place in the Optimist D category

A promising future for Balearic sailing

This year’s Gran Día de la Vela – Bufete Frau continues to highlight the exceptional level of youth sailing in the Balearic Islands, with young athletes like Amiel and his teammates demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship.
